Offensive Photos

I think that these series of photographs are both beautiful and in different ways might appear offensive. I think that what might seem offensive to some is because it evokes a strong emotion(s). Here are ten photographs that I picked, not because they are necessarily offensive to me, but rather putting them up for individual interpretation.

from top to bottom: Richard Avedon, Carrie Mae Weems (image two and three), Helmut Newton (image four and five), Guy Bourdin (image six and seven), Richard Edgerton, (last two images) unknown (found from blog).

For my first photography assignment we were asked to select a photograph that had particular significance to us. Here are a few photos that are very dear to me. Wherever I go, traveling back and forth from school, I've found that I always bring these images with me.

Images from top to bottom:
image one: cat
image two: my dad in '88, Canada.
image three: mom
image four: my mom at wedding in '75.
